Dolphin Reef / Blue – Disneynature (2018)

This was a welcome opportunity to work with the Silverback Films producers again after our first project, The Hunt. The Disneynature approach to natural history required an uplifting and bright score, which was a great contrast to the writing I’d been doing on other more adult projects around that time. The film also allowed me to work with the brilliant Lisa Hannigan for the first time since Fury, and her vocals added a huge amount to the sound of the score as we told the story of Echo, the young Dolphin around whom the film is based. At the time of writing, the movie is due to hit the Disney+ streaming service in April 2020, narrated by Natalie Portman. It’s a sweet family movie, and the underwater photography looks absolutely beautiful in UHD.
